The New Bankruptcy Laws And Filing A Washington State Bankruptcy
Need to file a Washington State bankruptcy? Can you still qualify to file a WA bankruptcy under the new laws? Talk to a WA State bankruptcy lawyer.
The New Bankruptcy Laws
In 2005, the federal bankruptcy laws were changed, in part, through the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA). For a while there were rumors that people could not file bankruptcy anymore, and that is absolutely not true!
You can still exercise your constitutional right to file a bankruptcy. For more than 90 % of our clients, the changes under the new laws have had little effect on their ability to file bankruptcy. People are still able to discharge debts like credit cards, medical bills, payday loans, lawsuits, and many other kinds of debts.
There are some requirements that make filing a little bit harder, but we will help you through the process.
